Tarrytown Street Fair
Street Fair/Friends of Whimsies Tag Sale: Sunday, June 7
There is a lot going on in Tarrytown this weekend, including events celebrating the Hudson Fulton Quadricentennial — for more on Sleepy Hollow & Tarrytown River Day, which includes fireworks at dusk on June 6, check out the Quadricentennial blog. Another popular event is the Tarrytown Street Fair, which will take over downtown on Sunday, June 7.
Just because we moved from Main Street doesn't mean we are going to stop our traditional “Friends of Whimsies” tag sale. This year it will be a yard sale, since we have a front yard at the new location. There will be strange odds and ends as well as vintage goodies in the offering all day Sunday. You never know what you will find.
If you’ve come to our tag sale in the past, you know the fun to be had. The Junior League’s Nearly New Shop will also be open with a great selection of ladies’ clothes.
While you’re checking out the Street Fair, please come in and see the new space. Our location is great, with loads of new goodies to choose from. And for more information on the Tarrytown Street Fair, visit the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce web site.
See you Sunday!

May Third Friday
The weather is just getting better and better. The forecast is looking pretty good for Friday evening. Third Friday happens every month, but springtime is when it starts to get busy. There are lots of things happening in town, including art openings and fun stuff for the kids -- stop by and we can fill you in. You can also check out Tarrytown 3rd Friday. Most of the stores stay open late so you can shop after you have dinner at one of Tarrytown's many restaurants.
Of course, we will be open late. If you received a postcard from us in the last few weeks, please bring it in -- we are having a prize drawing and to enter you need the postcard. We are also collecting email addresses for our new email list so please send that to whimsiesincognito@gmail.com. Just put "email list" in the subject line so we can find it easily. We promise to treat this list the same way as our snailmail list. We will never share any of your information with anyone. We also promise to not overload your inbox with daily junk. It will just be used for important information about sales and events.
We hope to see you Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Happy Mother's Day!
Hello everyone, and happy Mother's Day. Many of you already received our latest postcard reminding you about our recent move. If you have the postcard and would like to enter the prize drawing, all you have to do is come by and hand in your card with your phone number written on it. If you didn't receive a card and would like to be on our snailmail list, just stop by and sign up.
We are ready for Mother's Day with lots of beautiful jewelry, frames, scarves, pottery, glass, handbags, totes, and even picnic baskets. The art work you see above is another great addition to our offerings. It's from Kathleen Taylor's "Green is Good Art" series, printed on recycled board using environmentally friendly inks. We have a good selection of the series including women and dogs. Along with Kathleen's work we have many other artists to choose from.
If you haven't had a chance to check out our new space, now is the time. Just a warning, though: we are closed on Mother's Day, so come by soon.

Spring is here!
Happy spring, everyone! The sun is streaming in at the new location. Since spring is here, all our winter accessories are 50% off. There is still a great selection of hats, scarves, and gloves.
We have now been open for three weeks and the space is coming together well. You should see all the cool new goodies we got in since the move. There are beautiful new tiles from Motawi and new canvases from Erin Smith. We also have some new jewelry on display in a case Nikos gave us.
A great big "Thank You" to all the well wishers we have come to see us so far. Please come in to say hi and check out our new digs. And don't forget that today is 3rd Friday!

Unpacking!
Here is Hilary, hard at work unpacking and hanging our cool switch plates. We are trying to get all those pesky boxes unloaded and all those beautiful goodies displayed. It is all coming together nicely — so we are going to open our doors to show off our progress. We may not have everything up on the walls yet, but new shipments are already displayed and there is a lot to choose from. We even have a big wall mirror now so you can check out how you look in our new scarves. And speaking of scarves, all winter acessories are 50% off. With the new spring and summer goodies on the way, we need to make space.
Please come in just to say hello and to check out the new digs. Jackie did an amazing job with the colors.
Don't forget: the new location is at 35 S. Broadway, just a block south of Main Street in Tarrytown. There is a parking lot right next door, and we will have three designated spaces in the back as soon as we can get signs hung on the fence.
Our number is the same so feel free to call us at 914-631-3355.
See you soon!

Moving on up!
We are now in the nitty-gritty of moving. Our old location is now closed and we are working hard to get everything moved up the hill and around the corner to our new location at 35 S. Broadway in Tarrytown. It's a cool brick-and-white house known as the Junior League House. Our plan is to be open by the second week of March.
There are lots of new goodies on the way into the new location too. We will keep you posted on our re-opening date.
